Simple Alfredo Sauce
I've been using this recipe for years. Recently I started adding garlic salt, but it's also good without.
1/2 cup (one stick) butter
1 pint heavy whipping cream
1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
In a medium saucepan, melt butter. Stir in whipping cream. Add cheese. Cook over medium-low heat until smooth.
We like this with pasta, chicken, and broccoli. It would also be good with shrimp.
Make a thicker fondue version by creating a roux during the first step, mixing flour in with your butter.
