Stuffed Sliders
I received this recipe from my friend Michelle S. years ago and it's so yummy.
She called it "Surprise Cheeseburgers."
Serve with sweet potato fries, fresh fruit, and a relish tray.
DOUGH:
1 cup warm water
2 1/4 tsp yeast
3 Tbs. oil
3 Tbs. sugar
1 tsp. salt
3 c. flour (try using 1 c. whole wheat)
MEAT FILLING:
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. onion salt
1/8 tsp. garlic salt
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese (set aside)
1/4 cup chopped onion

1 c. shredded cheddar cheese (set aside)
1. Dissolve yeast, warm water, and sugar.
2. Add oil and salt. Stir enough flour to make soft dough, then knead til smooth and elastic.
3. Divide into 12 pieces, roll into balls and allow to rise while preparing meat.
4. Brown ground beef with onion and drain grease.
5. Add spices to brown meat with 1/2 cup water and let simmer for 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 350.
6. Flatten each dough ball and fill with 2 Tbs. of meat and 1 Tbs. of shredded cheese.
7. Fold in half and pinch edges to seal.
8. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
